Tips for Being a Good Member |

- Attend 7 Chapter meetings
- Attain a minimum of 12 Education hours
- Attain a minimum of 24 Service hours
- Attain a minimum of 12 Finance hours (Cotton Ball weekend)
- Be on time for meetings (Chapter or any committee meetings). This shows manners, respect and courtesy for the Chair presiding
- In the meetings, conduct yourself with courtesy to all members
- Respect who is speaking by listening and giving full attention. This insures the member of not missing any pertinent business.
- Show up and be on time for all projects. Remember your presence is important in making a difference in a needy child.
- Keep up with your hours and stay in touch with the Placements Chairman
- Respect the Executive Board. They are here to administrate, guide, encourage, inform and lead the membership.
- Respect and encourage each other. Every member is here as a VOLUNTEER of JA.
- Be positive! This makes for a great internal and external public relations campaign and is also the KEY to our success in the community.
- Don’t assume anything! Communication is the best key1
- Call the President with any problems, internal or external.
- Volunteer! Help someone when needed with a project, administration, etc.
- Support any decision made. The majority rules and whether you were in favor or opposed, support the decision but respect the rights of the minority
- Follow Parliamentary procedure
- Debate about the motion not the motives behind it
- Know and follow the National and Local Constitution, Bylaws and Standing Policies
- Remember the CROWN---Care and Repsonsibility for Others
